As a physician, entrepreneur, and wellness strategist, Niraj Patel, DO, MBA, brings a multifaceted perspective to Take Control Science. His background in clinical medicine and performance optimization gives him a unique lens into how people actually live—and what it really takes to change.

In this conversation, Niraj opens up about why he co-founded the brand, how mindset drives health, and why Core Control is more than a product—it’s a philosophy.

You’ve worked in clinical care, business, and performance. What led you to co-found a wellness brand?

Niraj Patel: I’ve always believed in building things that solve real problems—and the biggest one I kept running into was the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it. As physicians, we give people advice all day: Eat better, move more, manage stress. But the systems around them don’t support that. I wanted to create something that helped people bridge that gap in a modern, trustworthy, and empowering way.

What was missing in the wellness space that you wanted to fix?

Niraj: Credibility. There are a lot of brands out there with slick branding but no real foundation. And then on the flip side, you have scientific products that feel cold or inaccessible. We wanted to merge those worlds—to make something that was medically credible and culturally relevant. Something that speaks to the average person but also earns the respect of practitioners and researchers.

How did you think about brand positioning and messaging?

Niraj: From day one, the message was about ownership. We didn’t want to say, “Here’s a pill that will fix your life.” We wanted to say, “Here’s a tool to help you show up for yourself.” That’s why we called the company Take Control Science. The science matters. The action matters. The person matters. If you’re ready to take control, we’re here for that.

What role does mindset play in long-term wellness, in your experience?

Niraj: It’s everything. You can have the best trainer, the best supplement, the best plan—but if your identity doesn’t align with those behaviors, it won’t stick. That’s why we talk about consistency, habits, and your why so much. When someone stops seeing themselves as someone trying to get healthy and starts seeing themselves as a healthy person, everything changes.

How does Core Control support that kind of identity shift?

Niraj: Core Control is about momentum. It helps curb cravings, improves energy, supports stress resilience—and those things give you quick wins. When you start feeling better, you start making better choices. It’s not the hero of your story, you are. But it’s a powerful sidekick when you’re trying to build momentum and stay in control of your day.

Who is this product really for?

Niraj: It’s not just for people trying to lose weight. It’s for people trying to stay sharp at work, show up for their kids, feel better in their body, or just build better habits. It’s for the people who are ready to stop outsourcing their health and start owning it. Whether you’re a busy parent, a tech exec, or someone just starting your journey, if you’re serious about taking control, this is for you.

How do you address skepticism around supplements?

Niraj: First, by being transparent. We don’t hide behind proprietary blends. We show our ingredient stack and explain the science behind every component. Second, we put our names on it. I take this product every day. So does Samir. We designed it because we couldn’t find anything we trusted enough to take ourselves. That’s the standard. If we won’t use it, we won’t make it.

What feedback from users has stuck with you the most?

Niraj: Honestly, the stories where people say, “This gave me my energy back,” or “I finally feel in control again.” It’s not about pounds lost—it’s about identity regained. When someone tells you they’re showing up differently in their life because of something you built, that’s the real win.

What excites you most about the future of Take Control Science?

Niraj: The community. We’re not just building a company—we’re building a culture around ownership, consistency, and long-term vitality. I want to see people supporting each other, sharing their stories, and holding themselves accountable—not to perfection, but to progress. That’s when a brand becomes a movement.
